Current Issues

Why? I do not know...but these Wi-Fi hook-up places leave me unable to open 2 windows at one time. So I am unable to open the second window to download a picture....it keeps cutting me off. So, I'll have to upload pictures later. I am so disapointed cause I was excited to be able to post pictures and a running commentary of my trip. That and the wireless keeps kicking me off, breaks down or loses signal.

Having ALOT of issues with internet

Hi Everyone- I am having alot of trouble with the internet.....not so strong of signals or its broken down at the places I am at. It looks like I have a good signal here in Casper, Wyoming, so I'll try and catch up.

In the Middle of Nowhere

Tonite finds us in the middle of nowhere....West Wendover, Nevada. There is nothing to do here, so I won't waste my breath. Our first day of camping found us at Donner State Park in Truckee, California. Pretty little campground, not too much shade though...and boy was it warm! It was about 88 degrees and it made all the pine trees smell really good. The first day was mostly getting settled in....got there about 4:00 pm. The second day we went to the Donner Party Museum that is on the same grounds as the campground. They show a little movie, they had a small museum attached with stuff to look at. I enjoyed it but the kids were a little bored....typical kids I guess. I took them swimming in Donner Lake and wading around and catching crawfish in Truckee River. This was a highlight for them and me.....the played and wore themselves out and I got to relax just a tad. I was very cold at night.....not sure how cold but alot different than when we went to sleep.....all sprawled on top of covers and end up shivering underneath everything I had. We made a stop at the Rite Aid for some outdoor toys and floatie things.... I'm having some trouble downloading the pictures, I'll try that separately.

This is a test post from Shannon's laptop that we are taking on the trip. I want to be able to post text and pictures while I'm gone.

OK, we are down to the wire now.....the trip is 7 days away. I am making all the plans for delivery of all the pets to their babysitters. That also involves having enough pet food for each for the entire month. Petsmart loved me today and my big bill. Thank God I had a gift card! The kittens are going to their new homes on Sunday. Lucky (aka Chip) is going to my Uncle Dennis on Wednesday. They are all going to have good homes and for that I am thankful. I love all my family and friends and people that are willing to help and go the extra mile.

I'm doing the math in my head and I have less than a month to get all my camping stuff together. I sort of stopped my trip planning after the Tetons....I figured I won't have much trouble finding campsites coming home, and that's if I decide to come home or go somewhere else.....sky's the limit, but I think I'll be ready to come home by then. I'll have to research a little more to see what there is to see coming home.
